MAF received cash RM2.5 million, basic needs, and food from 93 contributors



KUALA LUMPUR: Ninety-three companies, corporate bodies and individuals contributed cash money amounting to RM2,524,902.79 million apart from basic needs and Hari Raya food to the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), Thursday.   

The MAF Head Office, Intelligence and Strategic Defence Communications Division in a statement said, this annual event is a show of appreciation to the contributors who have consistently supported the struggle and the contributions of the MAF family to the country.

“Through the contributions, MAF has prepared 15,000 bags that will be handed to all the commissioned officers and the national armies who are on duty to look after the safety at the borders and the national prosperity during Hari Raya Aidilfitri 1445H celebration around the country.

“The gifts will be given to the Malaysian Army, Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Royal Malaysian Navy (RMV) and also to those who are on duty overseas for the United Nations (UN),” the statement said.

 Meanwhile, the Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin was present at the event “Presentation of Hari Raya Aidilfitri Contributions from the Contributors to MAF 2024” held at the Wisma Pertahanan Auditorium.  

Also present were the Chief of Defence Forces, General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohammad Ab Rahman and wife, Puan Sri Ramlah Dawi, Chairman Supreme Congregation of the Welfare Body of the Armed Forces Family (BAKAT).

According to the statement, the re-packaging of the contributions received have been done by the BAKAT members and MAF staff who always help each other and become the backbone in assisting the activities of the MAF family.

“As an appreciation to the contributions received, the Minister of Defence presented a special memorable souvenir to all the contributors involved besides giving away boxes as a symbolic handover of the contributions to the Chief of Armed Forces, Malaysian Army Chief, General Tan Sri Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan, Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Ayob and Chief of RMAF, General Tan Sri Mohd Asghar Khan Goriman Khan.–Malaysia World News
