KUANTAN: Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today said “the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) does not know the source of money” that was transferred to him.
“They didn’t know the source of the money. Like myself, I didn’t know the source as well when I received it.
“Now, it has to go through the process and we have to let the court decide,” Najib was quoted as saying by the Star Online after visiting the Teluk Chempedak beach here Saturday (June 22).
However, he still insists and reiterates that the money was a donation to him from Saudi Princes.
“In the SRC case, a large chunk of money actually came from the Saudi Ministry of Finance, as well as donations from princes.
“We cannot assume everything is 1MDB money,” he said in response to the MACC’s move to recover RM270mil misappropriated from 1MDB.
Najib said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has to find out where the fund came from in the 1MDB civil forfeiture suit.
