PUTRAJAYA: Another former top official of the title “Datuk” has been nabbed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for questioning over alleged corruption involving RM99.693 million.
The official was questioned for hours and had his statement recorded yesterday (on Tuesday, Jan 8)
Sources told the Star that the the individual who was believed to have held a top position in Tourism Malaysia remanded till today Wednesday (Jan 9).
The investigation, sources said, is related to a RM99.693mil project that was allegedly approved a month before the 14th general election in May last year.
The contract was for a local company to act as a go-between for Tourism Malaysia and a China-based firm to promote Malaysia on social media, the Star said.
