Lumut Navy City Carnival invites public to be closer to RMN staff

Lumut – The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) had celebrated the eight anniversary of Lumut Navy City which was pronounced on 24 April 2009 by His Majesty Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbudin Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Yussuf Izzuddin Shah Ghafarullahu-lah.

The celebration was held at Dataran Putra, Lumut City to encourage members of the public to have a closer relationship with RMN community besides promoting Visit Perak 2017. 

“The event also witnessed Fleet Commander, Admiral Madya Datuk Seri Mohamad Roslan Mohamad Ramli launched the new landmark that was a mast,” said RMN in a statement recently.

The statement also said that various activities such as blood donation, free medical checkup, naval career promotion exhibition and sales of used products for welfare were carried out throughout the carnival. Meanwhile, the Navy Battle Chef event had witnessed a cooking competition amongst RMN Chefs at Dataran Putra. The Lumut Aquathlon Challenge involving participants from Perak had also captured the public’s interest.

The carnival was also celebrated with 100 RMN staff marched in at Dataran Putra apart from Kombo Gelombang Biru of RMN, entertaining the public with popular music and songs on the stage.  

The organization of the carnival this year involved the cooperation from various government agencies such as Manjung Municipal Council, Seri Manjung Hospital, and Royal Malaysia Police. The Management and Science University (MSU) also participated in the cooperation.

The implementation of the carnival was in line with the National Blue Ocean Strategy Initiatives Policy besides engaging RMN with the public. Until 10.00am about 5,000 RMN staff and members of the public were present at Dataran Putra. 

Also present at the event, Toh Seri Bijaya Datuk Shaharudin Nazari, Orang Besar Jajahan Manjung, Datuk Rashidi Ibrahim, Pasir Panjang State Assemblyman, Mohd. Fariz Mohd Hanip, Manjung District Officer, senior officers and staff of RMN.
