PULAU LANGAWI: The International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA’23) held in Langkawi from 23rd till 27th May will strengthen Malaysia’s position as the regional hub for aerospace and maritime sectors.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, that position will subsequently realize the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Action Framework and the Malaysian Shipping Master Plan.
“Throughout the event, LIMA’23 will reach business agreements worth RM18 billion and this will give an added value to the commercial value specifically involving the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Transport and other industry players,” Anwar said in his Facebook post today.
Anwar added, his visit to LIMA’23 had also given him the opportunity to witness the signing of several Momorandum of Understanding (MoUs) besides visiting the exhibition booths in MIEC.
He added, his visit to LIMA’23 was more meaningful where he had the opportunity to see closely the air defence assets, among them the F/A18D Hornet owned by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).
“I had the chance to meet the air force team that were involved in the aerobatic show amongst them were from Indonesia, China, South Korea, Russia and United Arab Emirates (UAE),” he said.
The Prime Minister hopes the LIMA ‘23 will achieve success and brings double returns covering the economic sector, trade, defence and security. –Malaysia World News
