KUALA LUMPUR: Out of 60 cities worldwide, Kuala Lumpur was ranked at 35th place as a safe city to live in, a report by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) reveals.
The EIU’s Safe Cities Index 2019 ranked Tokyo once again ranked No1, the safest city in the world, followed by Singapore and Osaka.
Other cities that came at the top 10 list were Quebec City, Taipei, Munich, Dubai, Zurich, Bern, Eskisehir, and Hong Kong, in that order.
The safety index ranked 334 cities. The crime index or score is an estimation of the overall level of crime in a given city.
KL has dropped four places from its 31st ranking in the 2017 report with 73.11 points. In the 2017 report, KL had ranked higher than major cities like Beijing and Shanghai, according to Malay Mail.
