Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election: Pang Sock Tao (PH) won with majority of 3,869 votes

KUALA KUBU BAHARU: Pakatan Harapan (PH) has retained the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat in Selangor following its candidate Pang Sock Tao (pic) won 14,000 votes with a majority of 3,869 in the by-election today (Saturday).

Sock Tao has defeated Perikatan Nasional’s Khairul Azhari Saut who garnered 10,131votes while Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s Hafizah Zainuddin secured 152 votes and independent candidate’s Nyau Ke Xin only gained 188 votes.

The Kuala Kubu Baharu state assembly by-election result was announced by the returning officer Yuhanas Aree Kamaruddin at 9.49pm at the Hulu Selangor District Sports Complex Multipurpose Hall.

However, the turn-out of voters at the by-election was 61.51 per cent while 263 votes had been rejected.

Meanwhile, the late Kuala Kubu Baharu assemblyman, Lee Kiong Hiong of the DAP in the previous Selangor state election had retained the seat with a majority of 4,119 votes in a four corner fight.
