KL, Putrajaya, Selangor and Melaka enter Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) effective 1st October

PUTRAJAYA SEPT.29: Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor and Melaka will be shifting to Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) effective 1st October 2021, following the infection rate (R-naught) nationwide has recorded 0.88 and the COVID-19 patients admitted to the Intensive Care Units (ICU) have shown a decreasing trend.

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the other four states that are already in Phase Three are Perlis, Pahang, Terengganu and Sarawak while Kedah will shift to Phase Two joining five other states namely Pulau Pinang, Perak, Kelantan, Johor and Sabah. Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan and Labuan have earlier been shifted to Phase Four.

“The shifts were made after considering the current risk evaluations carried by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Security Council (NSC).

“Based on the decisions of the COVID-19 Pandemic Management Special Committee to shift the states to their respective phases, indirectly there is no state in Phase One of NRP now,” Ismail said in a statement here today.

Ismail added, as announced on 22nd Sept.2021, the government will only allow inter-state travel when the rate of full vaccination of the adults have reached 90 per cent.

The Prime Minister also stressed that the government is considering to open more economic sectors to operate as usual after it have been closed for a long time to enable the people to continue their livelihoods better.

Meanwhile, the government has also announced other flexibilities as follows:- 1) Government and private official events including the opening and workshops are allowed in Phase Two and Phase Three states provided the guests have been fully vaccinated and occupy 50 per cent capacity of the premises while 100 per cent capacity in Phase 4; 2) The opening of the skill training and training centre including vocational college, TVET and others are allowed in all the phases by adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP) in line with the opening of the institute of higher learning (IPT) effective 15th Oct. 2021 and 3)Allowing the presence of spectators/supporters at the sports championship and recreational venues in states under Phase 2,3 and 4.

The presence of the spectators/supporters during, after the sports events and recreations must comply with the SOP, fully vaccinated, wearing face mask throughout the event and no drinking and eating activities while in the stadium.

Children under 18 years are not allowed to be present while the event is on.

Ismail said, regarding the SOP of the new flexibilities, it could be accessed via the official websites of the ministries involved and at www.mkn.gov.my.

The Prime Minister stressed that the government is taking seriously on any individual who goes out of the house while undergoing the Monitoring Order at Home (HSO) and action will be taken if he/she is found guilty. –Malaysia World News
