KKD’s mission to London Tech Week 2023 achieves RM8.3 billion investment

LONDON: An investment commitment of RM8.3 billion was achieved by the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) through Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), during the investment mission to London Tech Week 2023 led by the Minister, Fahmi Fadzil.

The Corporate Affairs Division Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) said, this achievement stems from: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MDEC and International Data Centre Authority (IDCA); Partnership Exchange with Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC); Partnership Exchange with UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC); MoU between Sunway Group and Wippd; and Investment announcements by nine prominent companies in the United Kingdom namely Access Group, Dataswyft, TPP, Activpayroll, Ekco, Yondr Group, GBG, Hamilton Barnes and MMOB.

“This signifies unwavering confidence of foreign investors in the robust framework of Malaysia Digital (MD), a national strategic initiative driving the digital economy that is aligned with the vision of Malaysia MADANI.

“As part of this mission, Minister Fahmi Fadzil together with Ts. Mahadhir Aziz, the Chief Executive Officer of MDEC conducted a roundtable session with esteemed business figures and executives to discuss the MD initiative, in addition to giving a keynote speech titled “Opportunities in ASEAN” at London Tech Week 2023 and participating as panellist in the “Global Tech Stage” session,” said MDEC in its statement today. – Malaysia World News
