
KUALA LUMPUR 11 May – The achievements of The Royal Medical Corps (KKD) in giving medical and humanitarian aids in Malaysia and internationally for the past 50 years has proven its excellent reputation.
His Majesty, Sultan Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah said, the success of KKD was achieved through hard work and efforts that had been implemented consistently, systematic and with a direction.
“Excellence cannot be achieved via rhetoric and slogan but through a visionary leadership, serious commitment and duties performed with dedication and equipped with loyalty and spirit,” said Sultan Nazrin.
The Sultan of Perak also said, military and medicine were a combination of two professions, with the tasks and responsibilities stretching round the clock and could cross time zones.
He said, when chosen to join the KKD, its members were entrusted with twin responsibilities, as a military and medical personnel at the same time.

Sultan Nazrin said that in his speech at the KKD Golden Jubilee, Guide of Honour Parade at Dataran Panglima Tentera Darat, Kem Perdana, Sungei Besi here today.
Also present were Deputy Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Datuk Seri Panglima Ahmad Hasbullah Mohd. Nawawi, KKD Chairman, Datuk Dr. Abdul Razak Md. Yusoff, Malaysian Army and KKD senior officers and their spouses.
The parade was participated by 15 officers and 317 staff headed by Lieutenant Colonel (Dr.) Yussra Yusoff from Armed Forces Tuanku Mizan Hospital that consists of four detachments including one female KKD detachment.
The parade also demonstrated KKD assets, among others the Volvo FL7 Mobile Module Hospital, IVECO M 4010 Four Wheel Drive Field Ambulance and Mekanize Malaysian Infantry Fighting Vehicle Ambulance.
His Majesty also expressed his happiness and congratulated KKD for its success in fulfilling the establishment’s mission, “maintaining the combat strength of Malaysian Army through maintaining good health, illness prevention, treatments and rehabilitation services”. Various recognitions granted to KKD have also helped elevate Malaysia’s name.
“The innovation Award JERNIH 2014 was an innovation system for filtering water, clean and safe that was produced by KKD. It has benefitted the local and international people.
“The water filtration system innovation had received international and the United Nations recognition and it had been introduced in Afghanistan, Cambodia and several countries in Africa,” Sultan Nazrin added.
Sultan Nazrin also mentioned, in 2016, KKD has also received the National Innovation Award for its Portable Dental Treatment Unit, five-star recognition in Civil Service Star Rating System; four stars in Accountability Indexes Monitoring Systems (AIMS) and also the Best Financial Responsibility Centre for Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and received “Smart Store Recognition” for four consecutive years.

His Majesty also said, throughout 50 years of KKD’s establishment, it had given medical and humanitarian aids under United Nations’ mission in Congo, Namibia, Cambodia, Somalia, Bosnia, Timor-Leste, Western Sahara and Lebanon.
KKD had also given assistance in the forest fire incident in Kalimantan, humanity aid in Flores Islands Indonesia; helped Haiyan Typhoon victims in the Philippines; Afghanistan refugees in Chaman, Pakistan and participated in the Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) in Turkey and India earthquakes.
