PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) is monitoring closely the issue of taking over the management of Kuala Lumpur Tower (Menara Kuala Lumpur) from Telekom Malaysia (TM) as the main shareholder via its subsidiary company Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn. Bhd. (MKLSB) to the company Hydroshoppe Sdn. Bhd.

Its Minister Fahmi Fadzil said, the Ministry is taking this issue seriously since it has been raised by the social media as well as questions asked by the media.

Fahmi said, he had been briefed in detail concerning the KL Tower management concession from KKD on 14th Dec. 2022 and will also be briefed as a whole regarding the same issue from Telekom Malaysia on 3rd January 2023.

“I was informed that the KL Tower management concession is now in its third interim period until 31st Dec. 2022,” he said in a statement.
The Minister added, KKD is closely monitoring this issue and as such is ready to cooperate if any authority is investigating on it.

Meanwhile, former Communications and Multimedia Minister, Tan Sri Annuar Musa shot down claims that he was involved in the transfer of ownership of the KL Tower concession from Telekom Malaysia Bhd. (TM) to Hydroshoppe Sdn. Bhd.

As quoted by NST Annuar said, TM is a public listed company and was never under the Ministry.
When asked further, Annuar said the matter had nothing to do with him. –Malaysia World News
