King commands government agencies to carry out detailed study to reduce the risk of floods in the country

KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had commanded the government agencies to carry out a detailed study to reduce the risk and overcome the floods in the country.

Al Sultan Abdullah said the short term and long term solutions such as the flood mitigation project and efforts to deepen the rivers that have become shallow are necessary as floods are often occurring.

Al-Sultan Abdullah has also expressed his gratitude and appreciation on the departments and agencies that have helped the flood victims.

“The flood victims who have been directed to shift have to follow the instruction and be alert on the safety of the family besides taking care of the cleanliness of the temporary transfer centre (PPS),” Al Sultan Abdullah said in a statement released by Istana Negara.

Meanwhile, His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah with Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong,Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah had consented to visit and presented contributions to the flood victims at the PPS, Maran District, Pahang, on Friday (3rd Mac.2023).

Their Majesties’ visit was accompanied by prince YAM Tengku Panglima Raja Colonel Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah.
Their Majesties had visited the PPS in Kampung Baru Sungai Chedong and Dewan Arena Maran where 396 people from 103 families had been placed.

Meanwhile, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah had consented to cook sardine with salted fish dish for 250 flood victims at PPS Kampung Baru Sungai Chedong.

Earlier Their Majesties had been to the Royal Malaysian Air Force Base in Kuantan after the seven days visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). –Malaysia World News
