King advises Members of Dewan Rakyat not to bet on the future of the country and the people to achieve certain agenda

KUALA LUMPUR SEPT.13: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah warned Members of the Dewan Rakyat not to bet on the future of the country and the people in their “games” to achieve certain agenda.

His Majesty Al- Sultan Abdullah stressed and urges all Members of Dewan Rakyat to return their focus in the efforts to combat COVID-19 pandemic and bring back the light to the people and the country.

“I pray for Malaysia and my beloved people to be blessed continuously by the Almighty with the utmost mercy and guidance leading us to live in unity under Allah’s protection,” His Majesty said in his speech at the opening of the fourth term in the 14th Parliamentary session via TV1 live telecasted here today.

Earlier His Majesty said, he has received hundreds of letters from the people expressing their sadness and hoping for the light of change that will be attained the soonest to lead their normal lives.

His Majesty said with the cultural practice of high performance and focus to achieve the short and long term targets, he believes the new government will be able to prove their achievements within the first 100 days of their administration.

In moving forward, His Majesty advises all parties to practise democracy via discussions in searching for solutions in any problems faced.

 His Majesty also supports the openness of the government by giving opportunities to various parties including Members of Parliament to be involved in the governance of the country.

“The people are always expecting this kind of maturity from the politicians. Take the advice from the Malay proverb that says “biduk lalu, kiambang bertaut.”  The reality is that those who won do not necessary have won all and those who lost do not lose all.

“Only through unity, mutual agreement and togetherness as “Malaysian Family” we will be able to go through several challenges and the future tests that we will encounter.

His Majesty also mentioned that on 16th August 2021, for the second time in his term as Yang di-Pertuan Agong, he witnessed two Prime Ministers of Malaysia resigned.

“With this opportunity I thanked and appreciated the eight Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Mahiaddin Md. Yassin and his Cabinet Ministers that had led the country’s administration in going through the critical COVID-19 pandemic.

“In line with the Constitutional Monarchy concept and Parliamentary Democracy I have given the opportunity to all 220 Members of Dewan Rakyat to name one Member of Dewan Rakyat to be appointed as Prime Minister via a letter of declaration.

“Through the letters, I found that 114 Members of Dewan Rakyat have given the trust on the Member of Parliament for Bera, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to be the Prime Minister.

“On 19th August 2021, I have received an audience of 114 Members of Dewan Rakyat and I am satisfied on the trust given to the Bera MP on their own will without any force. The majority number has been met to form a government.

“In accordance to the Article 40(2)(a) and Article 43(2)(a) of the Federal Constitution. I have consented to appoint Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri to be the ninth Prime Minister of Malaysia,” His Majesty said.

His Majesty has congratulated the athletes who have won at the Olympic Games and Paralympics Tokyo 2020 recently along the prayers and support from fellow Malaysians.

His Majesty has also requested all Members of Dewan Rakyat to stand up to show respect and as an honour for the successes of the Malaysian athletes and the sacrifices of the front liners and other critical sectors that have encountered various challenges in the pandemic landscape in a long period.  -Malaysia World News
