BANDAR SERI BANDI, KEMAMAN: To encourage the rural people to participate in businesses with the support facilities and elevate the economy via entrepreneurship development, the Central Terengganu Development Authority (KETENGAH) has introduced the Strengthening Rural Entrepreneurship Support Programme (SPKLB).
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, to date there are 67 entrepreneurs who have received the full grant amounting to RM560, 000. However, today 24 participants will receive grants worth RM5, 000 each involving RM120, 000 as a whole.
“I am confident KETENGAH’s target to increase the income of the village entrepreneurs will be achieved with various developmental approaches implemented as a whole,” Ismail said in his speech at the Prime Minister Friendly Programme with the people of KETENGAH at the Seri Bandi Sports Complex, here 21st Oct.2022.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister also announced that 20 females from the KETENGAH Territory will receive aids in the form financing sewing equipments under the Suri Impian Programme (SURIA) amounting to RM100, 000 to increase the family’s income and to be out from the shackles of poverty.
Ismail also mentioned that KETEGAH pays RM1 million worth of zakat every year via the increase in the income of its subsidiary company Ketengah Holding Sdn. Bhd to three Parliamentary areas namely Kemaman, Dungun and Hulu Terengganu.
Ismail added, whatever he had announced is a proof that Keluarga Malaysia in the rural areas is also being attended to by the.government in various aspects especially in economy and other aids.
Ismail also congratulated KETENGAH for successfully implemented the economic development programme following more than 650,000 hectares of land in the rural areas have benefitted 168,000 people.
“I congratulate KETENGAH for their success in maintaining their good performance and subsequently receiving the development allocation amounting to RM1.7 million that is an increase of 4.1 per cent for this year. (Budget for KETENGAH has been increased from RM39 million in 2022 to RM56 million for 2023).
“The increase is a clue that the government agency under the leadership of Keluarga Malaysia Government is efficient, credible and could administer the national economy well,” Ismail said.
The Prime Minister also highlighted, 4,053 houses and premises worth RM74.05 million have been allocated for Keluarga Malaysia in KETENGAH Territory to ensure the living environment is prosperous, safe and with quality.
As a preparation to face the monsoon season, Ismail said, Ketengah Holding Sdn. Bhd. will contribute a fibre boat worth RM36, 000 to the Voluntary Fire Brigade Kampung Jongok Batu to implement their social corporate responsibilities.
“The KPLB has also approved RM1.9 million this year for KETENGAH to provide 12 new houses and 87 units for restoration. Today 16 recipients will receive the contributions.
“Three selected cooperatives under Program Desa Lestari (PDL) with the grant worth RM1.5 million will be channelled to the selected village via Koperasi Komuniti . This is to elevate the community’s competencies in implementing the village economic development programme,” Ismail said. – Malaysia World News
