KEPALA BATAS: Penang PKR Youth chief Asrol Sani Abdul Razak, who is also the Bertam PKR coordinator, has left the party for not having been selected as the candidate for GE 14 Bertam’s parliamentary seat.

Asrol was quoted by the Star as saying he was supposed to be the candidate for the Bertam state seat, but it was given to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia instead.

“Even the Penaga state seat was lost because the candidate from Pribumi was declared bankrupt.

“I hope leaving the party will be an eye-opener to them, and if Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim sees this, I hope he knows that PKR in Penang has deviated from its original purpose,” he said at a press conference in Teluk Ayer Tawar, Butterworth on Tuesday.

Asrol said he was joined by 70 dissatisfied party members from five constituencies – Kepala Batas, Tasek Gelugor, Permatang Pauh, Bagan and Bukit Mertajam.

He also blames DAP and accusing it of influencing PKR leaders ‘ decision.

“We are not happy with the PKR state leadership.

“It is supposed to be a shared government in Penang but it looks like PKR is just following DAP,” he said.
