KUALA LUMPUR NOV.21: Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman and UMNO President, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, the coalition has formed a special committee to enable any discussion with other parties to he held relating to the formation of the new federal government.
Ahmad Zahid said, BN did not have discussion with any party after the general election held 19th Nov.2022 and if there is any statement on that then it is untrue.
“Only the Supreme Council of BN could make the final decision of any merger with any other parties to form a new federal government,” he said at the press conference after BN leaders met with Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders here today.
The BN leaders including Zahid and Members of Parliament (MP) and others were seen leaving the meeting at the hotel around 12.30pm today.
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister and also Vice-President of UMNO, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, negotiations with PH and Perikatan Nasional (PN) regarding the formation of the new government have not be held and cannot be finalised by today.
He said, the party will request for an extension of time to 2pm as deadline set by Istana Negara for BN to submit its prime minister candidate.
However, the former Prime Minister denied the case of BN MPs had signed statutory declarations (SD) supporting Anwar Ibrahim as the prime minister and added no discussions were held during today’s meeting with PH leaders. – Malaysia World News
