PUTRAJAYA AUG 10: The Cabinet Ministers had decided to urge the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to immediately investigate on the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) case and if strong evidences are found the Attorney General should charge those responsible in the court of justice.

Prime Minister, Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, he had called the Attorney General, Tan Sri Idris Harun and the MACC Chief, Tan Sri Azam Baki to act immediately in line with the decision of the Cabinet Ministers’meeting today.

“The government took the LCS case very seriously and the Cabinet Meeting had decided that the Report of the Governance Investigation, Acquisition and Government Finance Committee (JKSTUPKK) chaired by former Auditor General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang would be allowed to be announced to the public.

“The Cabinet Ministers had also proposed for The Forensic Audit Report of LCS Project that was carried out in 2019 to be declassified. However the process needs to get the advice and opinion of the Attorney General.

“The Cabinet Meeting had also decided not to disturb the Mobilisation Process under the LCS Recovery Plan that had been decided by the Cabinet Ministers on 20th April 2022,” Ismail said in a statement here today.

The Prime Minister added, the government is committed to continue with the project for the national defence interests in line with the needs of the Malaysian Royal Navy (RMN).

“On behalf of the government, I give assurance that the investigation related to this issue will be carried out transparently and the government will not protect whoever is involved in the case,” Ismail said. –Malaysia World News.
