Unmarried couples in Indonesia will face up to a year jail if caught breaking having sex outside marriage.
The new rule will apply to all, including non-muslims, foreign residents and tourists.
The Indonesian parliament has unanimously approved the new strict law that will criminalise sex outside of marriage.
Officials have confirmed unmarried couples caught having sex face up to one year behind bars once the laws are passed later this month, according to Mail Today
The new criminal code is expected to be passed on December 15.
However, the criminal code won’t come into effect immediately according to reports.
