Idrus Harun is the new Attorney-General of Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Idrus Harun has been appointed as the new Attorney-General of Malaysia, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)  announced today in a statement.

 Idrus Harun, who was Federal Court Judge,  has been appointed the new Attorney General for a two-year term effective March 6, 2020.

The statement from PMO said that the appointment was made in accordance with Clause 1, Article 145 of the Federal Constitution,  following the acceptance of former Attorney-General, Tommy Thomas’ resignation by the Agong.
