PUTRAJAYA The detention of seven officers from the Immigration Department of Malaysia (IDM) alleged to be involved in the issuing of passes and documents unsystematically and protecting foreigners was the result of the cooperation between IDM and the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC) .
Immigration Director General, Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud said, the detention of the immigration officers was also the result of information sharing and subsequently full cooperation will be given to MACC to complete their investigation that will be implemented professionally.
Khairul Dzaimee said that in responding to several local media and online reports regarding the detention of seven IDM officers by MACC on 13th June 2022.
“This department will not compromise with any officer or staff that abuses power to fulfill his/her personal interests to earn money in an easy way. Legal action will be taken on those involved including jail sentence and termination of services if found guilty,” said Khairul Dzaimee in a statement. –Malaysia World News
