Hurricane Beryl: Malaysians requiring assistance can contact the Malaysian embassy in Havana, Cuba -Ministry

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Embassy of Malaysia in Havana, Cuba is closely monitoring the movement of Hurricane Beryl.

The Ministry in its statement said, the current category-4 hurricane which is hitting the Carribbean Islands, is expected to make landfall in Jamaica on Wednesday , 3 July 2024.

The statement added, the Malaysian Embassy in Havana is also maintaining regular communication with Malaysians in Jamaica and other neighbouring countries including the Cayman Islands, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Turks & Caicos Island.

“Malaysians in Jamaica and other affected countries are urged to stay vigilant and follow the latest updates and guidance provided by the local authorities,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will keep the public informed of any recent developments.
