KUALA LUMPUR: Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein reassured that the parents of the late Navy Cadet Officer, National Defence University of Malaysia (NFUM) Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain, 21, will receive the group insurance, derivative pension, and other related benefits once the documentation process is completed.

Hishammuddin has visited the parents of Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain, 21, who died from bruises and scalding marks on his body at Hospital Serdang, Selangor last Thursday.

Hishammuddin, who is also the Minister with Special Functions, handed over contributions from Ministry of Defence, Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and ATM Welfare Fund to Zulfarhan’s parents.

Meanwhile, he directed the Military Training Academy to suspend 32 cadet officers from their studies upon waiting for completion of the investigation process. The students aged between 20 to 21 are being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Hishammuddin in a statement said the ministry is currently waiting for a report from the Special Investigation Board which was formed by MAF and chaired by its Chief to investigate the cause of the incident.   – Malaysia World News
