KUALA LUMPUR – Former Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin denied being involved in the awarding of KDN project which is related to alleged bribery of RM15 million to win government contracts.

He claimed that attempts to link his name to four corruption allegations involving Sim Choo Thiam were made in an effort to harm the reputations of Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional.

The opposition leader`s name was referenced in the accusations surrounding the projects of the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) that he once oversaw.

Hamzah claimed that such accusations were deliberately fabricated because they are concerned about Perikatan Nasional which is getting stronger.

“These accusations that drag my name are clearly intended to damage my good name, Bersatu, and Perikatan Nasional.

“I also understand that there are certain parties who are panicking at the current shaky position, but do not act in such a way as to cause the people to feel that MACC can be manipulated by certain leaders,” he said in a statement yesterday. – Malaysia World News
