Putrajaya: The government will not compromise on extreme acts or racist remarks that stir up hatred and disharmony in the country, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“The Cabinet and I will ensure that peace and harmony among all races is defended.
“We will not tolerate any acts that would disrupt the country’s peace,” Anwar said as quoted by Bernama
after the Cabinet meeting today.
According to the local media, the Prime Minister was commenting on a statement by Selangor Islamic religious affairs, consumer affairs and halal industry committee chairman Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni that Muslims in the state are not allowed to join activities in non-Muslim houses of worship.
