BERA: The government had always given special focus to the Indian community including announcing several initiatives during the 2023 Budget to help the community in the country.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, as tabled in the Budget on 7th Oct.2022, RM100 million had been allocated to help produce entrepreneurs among the Indian community.
Ismail added, the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra) that was under the Ministry of National Unity previously is now under the Prime Minister’s Department and this shows the importance of the Indian’s economy to the country.
“The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives has also allocated RM25 million for the Indian Community Entrepreneur Development Scheme programme.
“Allocations will also be provided for SJK (Tamil) while Aimst University in Kedah would receive RM25 million, an increase of RM5 million to uplift the education sector,” Ismail said in his speech at the “Moh Ngeteh” programme with the Indian community at the Bera UMNO hall, Sunday 16th Oct.2022 as quoted by NST.
Ismail who is also the Bera Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman said, Aimst will get a bigger allocation next year onwards to enable more Indians to further their studies and help the B40 families. This demonstrates the government’s concern towards the community.
