Government allocates RM9.4 million subsidy for hajj pilgrims for the first time

SHAH ALAM: The government will bear the cost amounting to RM9.4 million following its preparedness to give a subsidy of RM1, 000 each in the B40 group who will perform the hajj pilgrimage for the first time.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr.Mohd. Na’im Mokhtar said, following the subsidy the hajj pilgrims of Muassasah B40 will require paying RM12, 356.

“The payment rate of the M40 group that performs the hajj pilgrimage for the first time will be RM19, 152 per person. All the future hajj in the M40 group will receive Hajj Financial Aid of RM14, 148 per person or 42 per cent from the total hajj cost.

“The T20 group will have to pay the full cost of the hajj pilgrimage amounting to RM33, 300 per person,” Mohd. Na’im said at the Hajj, Umrah and Tourism Hajj Pilgrims Administrator Carnival (PJH) 1445/2024M as reported by Sinar Harian.

Meanwhile, Mohd. Na’im urges members of the public to take the Hajj package from any one of the 25 PJH companies that have been licensed by Tabung Haji.

Mohd. Na’im added, the measure is taken to ease the monitoring work and subsequently will avoid fake cases.

“Since few years ago, a lot of news has been reported by the media regarding the fake hajj and umrah packages.

“I am confident that all the licensed companies have a strong capabilities, expertise and experiences and credible in giving the best services in safeguarding the welfare of the hajj pilgrims,” he said.
