“Give the disabled an opportunity to secure a job,” Yeoh urges the public sectors

IPOH: The Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister, Hannah Yeoh urges the local government-linked companies to give job opportunities to the disabled and handicap citizens to work and make better living.

The rate of employment of the disabled in the private sectors is very high than in the public sectors, she pointed out.

Feedback from private companies’ employers shows that the disabled are being hardworking, dedicated, and hardly took any leave, Yeoh said, adding that the public companies and organizations must employ them too.

“I am hoping that the local government-linked companies can give the disabled an opportunity to secure a job at their organisations,” the Star quoted her telling reporters after launching the “Disabled Santuni” programme at the Perak Association for Intellectually Disabled Association’s school here.
