PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin told Perikatan Nasional to be well prepared not only for the vote of confidence in Parliament on Sept 7 but also for the general election if PN failed to get a majority suport of the Members of Parliament.
“The Prime Minister admitted that there is a need to get more Members of Parliament on board to give him a strong majority when voting takes place on Sept 7.
“Muhyiddin had no choice but to get the confidence in the Dewan Rakyat or the people would have to face a general election during the pandemic” a source told The Star.
PM is reportedly quite convinced that he, for now, is the MP who holds the most number of confidence votes from MPs in the Dewan Rakyat.
“If the motion of confidence fails in September, and if the King agrees to a dissolution, the general election will only take place in November and we will already have reached herd immunity by October,” the source added.
