KUALA LUMPUR: The interim report of the death of 10 Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) officers and personnel involved in the two helicopters that crashed on Tuesday during a flypast training for RMN’s 90th Anniversary Celebration will be released in two weeks time.

Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil as the spokesman of the Unity Government said, the full report on the fatal incident involving the coalition between the two RMN’s helicopters will be known in one month’s time.

“The Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin in the Cabinet Meeting today (Wednesday) had made the commitment that the reports will be released within the stated dates,” Fahmi said in a press conference today.

Meanwhile, on another development, Khaled in a statement said the government will be channelling early aids of RM10,000 to the victims’ families to lessen their responsibilities.

He also said that a special fund will be set up to enable members of the public to contribute financial aid to the victims’ families.

“All expenditures including “ihsan flights” that incurred in transporting the victims’ bodies will be borne by the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF),” Khaled said in his Facebook post Wednesday. -Malaysia World News
