PARIS: France has ordered the closure of a mosque in the north of the country, regional authorities told AFP on Tuesday.
Authorities claimed the sermons incite hatred, violence and “defend jihad”.
The mosque in Beauvais will remain shut for six months.
This came few weeks after the Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said the site should be closed because the imam there “is targeting Christians, homosexuals and Jews” in his sermons, which is “unacceptable.”
