PUTRAJAYA: Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, accompanied by his team of lawyers, has arrived today morning at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters to have his statement recorded over investigations into SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former subsidiary of the controversial 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

Sources told Malaysia World News that the investigation questioning at MACC might take hours today and Najib might be arrested.

Embattled former Prime Minister Najib is ordered to explain a suspicious transfer of RM46 million into his personal bank account.

He is also accused of allegedly having siphoned billions of dollars from state fund 1MDB.

1MDB scandal has been exposed for the last three years, since 2015. Najib denied all allegations and he was cleared up by Malaysia Attorney General when he was in power.

After being ousted on 9th May general election due to a Malaysian tsunami that voted against him and  Barisan Nasional (BN), the new Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Mahathir has ordered for the re-opening of this case and vowed to charge Najib if found guilty according to the rule of law.

Mahathir Mohamad, 92,  joined the opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan in 2015 after 1MDB revelation and succeeded in toppling his former protege Najib in the 14th general election.

Sources and our analysts say that 1MDB corruption allegation was one of the main factors that led to the downfall of Najib Razak and Barisan Nasional (BN) government that has been in power for 60 years since Malaysia independence.
