Foreign workers will not be released until their employers arrive at KLIA to receive them

PUTRAJAYA: It is compulsory for employers to wait for the arrival of the new foreign workers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), manage their documents and verify that they are the employers of the said workers.

Director General Immigration Malaysia, Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud said, according to the immigration’s procedure the employers have to be at KLIA within six hours to receive the workers and in certain condition the period will be extended.

“The foreign workers will not be released until the employers as stated in the application arrive at KLIA to receive them.

“The procedure is aimed at ensuring all foreign workers have genuine employers. The workers will be given a notice “Not to Land” (NTL) and instructed to take the next flight home to the country of origin if the employers fail to follow the procedure,” Khairul said in a statement.

The statement was issued by the Malaysian Immigration Department (MID) following a blogger’s baseless allegation posted on the Facebook regarding the entries of foreign workers at KLIA recently.

Khairul Dzaimee added, since the opening of the national borders, MID has been managing the entries of 98,079 new foreign workers effective 1st April until 26th September 2022.

“The Department records its regrets on the blogger’s baseless allegation that may cause misunderstanding among the Malaysian Family. MID is conducting an investigation to take legal action on the case,” Khairul Dzaimee said. – Malaysia World News
