Foreign Minister met with UN Secretary General in New York urging ceasefire in Gaza with immediate enforcement -Ministry

NEW YORK: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan met with the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres at his office, Level 27, United Nations Secretariat Building, here recently.

The Foreign Ministry in a statement said, the minister had delivered Malaysian greetings to Guterres and handed over the postcard signed by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Cabinet Ministers of the Malaysian Unity Government.

“The signed postcard is to represent the people of Malaysia urging for ceasefire in Gaza with immediate enforcement and gives Palestine their rights as an independent and sovereign nation and accept Palestine as a full member of the United Nations,” the statement said.

Earlier the Foreign Minister had delivered the National Statement at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Ministerial-Level Open Debate on the Situation in the Middle East including the Palestinian Question on January 23th January 2024. –Malaysia World News
