Five fake job victims in Laos returned home Tuesday

PUTRAJAYA: Five fake job syndicate victims in Laos had arrived in Malaysia Tuesday evening and they were handed to the Royal Police Malaysia (RPM) to assist in the investigation process.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah said, 261 victims of the fake job offers have been saved from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand while 176 have been sent back to Malaysia and the remaining 85 still at the temporary detention depot while waiting for the process of returning home.

“We record our thanks to the Laos government on the cooperation and commitment in addressing the criminal syndicate that had enabled the process of sending the victims home smoothly.

“Malaysians are advised to always be on alert in accepting job offers overseas especially the ones that promise high salary without appropriate qualifications,” Saifuddin said in his Facebook post, 4th Oct.2022. –Malaysia World News
