BERA JULY 14: For the new generation to simplify the process of financing and building a house in the “generation lot”, the government has allocated RM20 million under the Housing Credit Guarantee Scheme as collaterals to the housing loans that will be applied by the FELDA new generation.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the initiative will be implemented in Pahang, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Perak, Kelantan and Kedah.
“In the Bera Parliament, 250 lots had been identified namely in FELDA Kumai and FELDA Triang. At the moment, 8,670 unit generation lots have been identified including 3,200 units that I had announced in Johor, March 2022.
“For that matter, they do not have to provide the collaterals to apply for loan depending on the fund until it has been fully utilised,” Ismail said in his speech in conjunction with the FELDA Settlers Day Celebration 2022 at the public field, FELDA Rentam here today.
The Prime Minister added, FELDA has allocated RM10 million to give more opportunities to the entrepreneurs among the FELDA new generation and elevate the business capacity and business start-ups.
Ismail added, minimum loan of RM5, 000 and maximum RM20, 000 without interest following the package will be offered to the new generation.
“Interested FELDA youth entrepreneurs nationwide can start applying in August 2022,” Ismail said.
Ismail also announced that FELDA has provided RM6.1 million management fund for 2022 to take over the rubber collection centre (PMG) from FGV Rubber Industries Sdn. Bhd.
“This is following the rubber growing settlers who are worried with the low price of rubber. I would like to stress that the government and FELDA have never sidelined the rubber growing settlers,” Ismail reiterated.
The Bera Member of Parliament had also mentioned that through the Settlers Development Programme (PPP) that was implemented since 2019, FELDA had approved 8,542 poultry projects and agriculture involving a fund of RM212 million.
“Besides helping the national food security, part of the PPP projects had started productivity and able to provide additional income to 56,699 settlers within RM250 to RM500 a month,” he added.
The Prime Minister also stressed that FELDA has created various successes since 66 years of its establishment and the theme “Success in Blessings” is very suitable for this year’s celebration
“The empowerment of mechanisation and technology in the settlers ‘plantation management have enabled their productivity to increase to an average of 20 tonne per hectare a year.
“This achievement represents the addition of 2.71 tonnes per hectare compared to the average settlers’ productivity for 2021. I am very proud to share that the increase in productivity had brought to the value creation for the settlers’ families amounting to more than RM1 billion per year,” Ismail said. –Malaysia World News
