EX-PM Najib’s trial to be held on Feb 2019 in Kuala Lumpur court

PUTRAJAYA: The High Court has fixed Feb 12 to Feb 28 and March 4 to March 29, 2019 for the Former Prime Minister Najib Razak`s trial.

Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Zaharah Ibrahim said the trail will be conducted in the court in Kuala Lumpur, not in Putrajaya.

 “We won’t have it here (in Putrajaya),” she told the media after attending the oath taking and allegiance ceremony of four Federal Court judges and five Court of Appeal judges yesterday.

The Attorney-General had been already informed about the decision, she added.

Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s has been charged recently with several defences related to alleged criminal breach of trust, corruption and money laundering.

Under Section 23 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 punishable under Section 24 of the same Act, if found guilty, Najib may get jailed up to 20 years and fined not less than five times the amount or value of the bribe.

Najib denies all allegations and insists that it is political motivated. – #MalaysiaWorldNews
