European Union (EU) leaders plan to add Vladimir Putin’s daughters to the sanction list and freeze their assets and bank accounts.

Katerina Tikhonova, 35, and Mariya Vorontsova, 36, are placed on the EU’s latest draft list of targets that includes oligarchs, politicians and those said to be within Putin’s inner circle, the Daily Mail reported.

Tikhonova, a scientist and former acrobat, and Vorontosva, an endocrinologist, are expected to be subject to asset freezes and travel bans across Europe from Wednesday.

The sanctions aim to cripple Russian government officials and their family members as a punishment for invading Ukraine and committing alleged atrocities.
