PUTRAJAYA JULY 28: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be imposed on 39 localities nationwide and out of which 31 are in Sabah, six in Kelantan and two in Pahang effective 30th July until 12th August 2021.
Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said, the 31 localities in Sabah include Tuaran (11), Sandakan (4), Penampang (3), Tawau (3), Kinabatangan (2), Tenom (2), Putatan (2), Kota Marudu (1), Penampang (1), Kudat (1), Papar (1) while six other localities are in Gua Musang, Kelantan and two others one each in Raub and Rompin, Pahang.
Hishammuddin said, the decision to impose EMCO on the 39 localities was following the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) presentation on the risk analysis and COVID-19 infectivity trend in the affected areas.
On another development he said, the government had agreed to extend the EMCO imposed on Blok Angsana and Blok Sumboi-sumboi, Kampung Seberang Benoni, Papar Sabah from 30th July until 12th August 2021following the risk analysis and the trend of COVID-19 infections presented by MOH.
Regarding the Task Force Compliance Operation headed by Royal Police Malaysia (RPM), Hishammuddin said, yesterday 19,315 personnel had implemented 85,520 checking and snap check COVID-19 to monitor and enforce the standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance nationwide.
“Failing to comply with the SOP, 52 premises including 10 factories, 39 business premises and three construction sites were directed to be closed immediately,” Hishammuddin said in a statement here today.
The Senior Minister added, the checking of business sectors in the operation include 1,975 factories, 14,782 business premises, 979 construction sites and 283 workers’ hostels.
Apart from that he said, 330 individuals were issued with compounds while 25 were remanded for not complying with the SOP.
Referring to the compulsory quarantine on individuals returning to Malaysia from abroad, Hishammuddin said, yesterday 614 had entered the international gates and the cumulative total of those returned since 24th July 2020 were 257,585 and 9,376 were still at the Compulsory Quarantine Centres, cumulative total brought to the hospitals were 3,620 and 244,589 was the cumulative total allowed to return to their homes.
The compulsory quarantine is carried out in 83 hotels, 11 Public Training Institutes (ILA) and sveral Private Education Institutes nationwide. –Malaysia World News
