SEPANG: Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin warned Malaysian students overseas not to work at farms or stay there illegally.
“If any of your friends invite you to work overseas without a valid visa after you finish your studies, please do not go. It is not worth the trouble.
“You will go there as an illegal immigrant without any valid document and approval. You will live in fear,” The Star quoted him as saying when addressing over 800 students from vocational colleges and technical schools at a discourse at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism (Maha) 2022 expo in Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).
Radzi added he knew of many cases where Malaysians travel illegally to countries such as Australia to pick apples at farms.
He said students interested in agricultural jobs should look at opportunities in their country.
