Education Minister Maszlee Malik should prove that he is a better education minister than the previous minister from the ousted Barisan Nasional (BN) government, said DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang,
He said Maszlee Malik should stop talking about socks and shoes colors so that not to fall into the “trap” by Umno propagandists who would paint him as a mediocre minister.
Utusan Malaysia has recently reported Maszlee saying that there would soon be a decision on the colour of schoolchildren’s socks.
Maszlee denied this, saying that his remark about the socks was just trivial– which he only touched on for less than a minute.
Maszlee said Utusan had played up the story of socks, while his more important point about university hospitals was “ignored.”
Lim called ex-Prime Minister Najib Razak who used this story to attack Pakatan Harapan a “low blow” meant to deflect attention from his involvement in the 1MDB scandal.
“Maszlee must quickly learn from the lessons of modern communications and focus his energies on proving that he is a better education minister than Najib himself,” Malaysiakini quoted the DAP supremo saying.
