DSA 2018: Malaysia strengthening strategic defence cooperation with Thailand

Bangkok:  The presence of the Malaysian Deputy Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Baharum at the Defense & Security 2017, Bangkok on Monday was not only to strengthen strategic defence cooperation but also to foster DSA 2018 that will be hosted by Malaysia.

Subsequently, Johari also witnessed a contract signing ceremony by Thales which is joining next year’s DSA edition soon after Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, General Prawit Wongsuvon, who is also the Defence Minister, officially opened the 2017 Defence & Security Exhibition.

General Prawit also visited DSA 2018 booth where he was graciously received by Johari and the management team. The meeting is expected to strengthen the defence diplomacy relationship between Malaysia and Thailand.

The opening ceremony was also graced by the presence of Chief of Malaysian Air Force, General Tan Sri Affendi Buang, 4th Division General Command Major General Datuk Mohd. Zakaria Yadi representing Chief of Malaysian Army, and Rear Admiral, Datuk Azhari Abdul Rashid, Malaysian Navy Assistant Chief of Staff Human Resource representing the Chief of Malaysian  Navy.

The General Manager of the DSA Exhibition & Conference Sdn. Bhd., Anita Jacobson was also present to promote DSA 2018 which will commence from 16th till 19th April 2018 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.

About 400 defence industry exhibitors from all over the world gather at the IMPACT Arena, Exhibition and Convention Centre for the three day event that ends on 9th November. –Malaysia World News
