KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad claims that home-quarantine has led to more infections that Covid-19 patients should be admitted to hospital, instead.

He said one of his relatives who was infected with Covid-19 and went for self-quarantine has affected other family members.

Dr Mahathir added, the person was  admitted to hospital only after having breathing difficulties at home.

“The problem is, when the person was at home, the disease was spread to other family members.

“I believe the reason the person was not admitted to hospital, in the beginning, was because of the high number of infections. Every day, there are (about) 4,000 cases detected.

“If a patient is at home, their family members will be infected too. Which means, more people will get infected when in actuality, they should be quarantined separately from their family members,” he wrote on his blog chedet.cc today.
