Kuala Lumpur: Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, who is the Deputy Prime Minister and also Minister of Rural and Regional Development hosted a dinner for esteemed ambassadors from the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and distinguished colleagues here yesterday.
“This gathering tonight exemplifies our shared values and commitment to a common cause: safeguarding and protecting the interests of the Muslim world while promoting international peace and harmony,” he said in a post on his Facebook.
As Member States of the OIC, he added, ” it is our ongoing responsibility to condemn Israel’s barbaric acts directed at Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Occupied Palestinian Territory as a whole, which represent a dangerous violation of international law. Furthermore, these actions pose significant threats to our shared values and aspirations for peace.
“Malaysia firmly believes that in order to protect Al-Aqsa, we, as Muslim nations, must consolidate our approach. We require a proactive and practical strategy that sends a strong message to the world – our unity knows no boundaries when it comes to safeguarding this sacred house of Allah.”
Deputy Prime Minister also stressed that Malaysia would like to reiterate its unwavering commitment to the OIC’s agenda.
