PUTRAJAYA FEB 17: The Ministry of Health (MOH) will not release the number of daily COVID-19 cases starting tomorrow but instead announce it on the next day (Saturday) with detailed information to reduce “fear factor.”
Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin said, the Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah will stop releasing the media statement on the number of daily cases but will include other data such as death cases and admission to the hospitals on the next day.
“The detailed information on the current COVID-19 cases in the country will give a clearer picture and educate the society as well as change their mindset on the COVID-19/Omicron wave,” Khairy said in a press conference held here today.
Khairy added, information on the COVID-19 cases tomorrow will be released on Saturday 10.00am. This system has been practised in other countries too.
On another development Khairy said, issues relating to MySejahtera can be solved at the helpdesk where people with vaccination certificate problems can go physically to the helpdesk counter at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) that opens on 19th February and also at PPV Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC), Shah Alam on 26th February 2022.
Regarding the Omicron infections, Khairy said, it is better to avoid from holding meetings and face to face meeting with staff in the course of office work.
“Work from Home (WFH) and remote working are encouraged in the efforts to slow the COVID-19 infections,” Khairy said.
The Minister also reminds the employers to release their staffs who have to take their children for vaccination under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids). Cooperation is very much needed from the employers in this case. –Malaysia World News
