“In this situation, the modus operandi that had been detected was the hackers had implemented the lure e-mail with the attempt to attack at random the official e-mail networks that have been used by several agencies in the Defence Ministry and MAF,” Affendi said in a statement.

However the MAF Chief said, the hackers’ activities have been detected earlier and prevention activities have been reasonably implemented. Currently, the whole MAF communication networks that are exposed to internet reach have been saved.

Affendi stressed that MAF consistently monitors and increases the cyber security aspects from time to time as a step to address any kind of cyber reactions from foreign elements that could disturb the cyber system operations and MAF ICT and the Ministry of Defence.
