KUALA LUMPUR:  Datuk Rizalman Mokhtar’s (pic) urine sample tested negative for drugs.

A letter from the police signed by Kuala Lumpur Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID) chief Asst Comm Adnan Azizon said after the initial test at the nightclub where he was detained, the urine sample of the Bandar Tun Razak Umno division chief was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital’s Pathology Unit for further testing and the Pathology Unit concluded that his urine tested negative for drugs.

And therefore, the letter said, the case is considered closed and no further action required.

When contacted, Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the investigation officer from Dang Wangi police district headquarters had sent the urine sample from Rizalman in a professional manner, the Star reported.

“It was then sent to the Pathology unit at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

“As the case is of public interest, the police asked the hospital to expedite the testing,” the Star quoted him quoted him as saying on Saturday.

“We have referred the matter to the state Prosecution director.

“The Prosecution director has also concluded that no further action is required on Rizalman,” he said, adding that the urine tests for Rizalman’s nine friends have not been concluded.

Comm Mazlan said the police have conducted the investigation in a fair and transparent manner.
