Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was arrested this evening by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) over alleged abuse of power and corruption related to the purchase of a RM2.8 million bungalow at below market price.
The seller of the RM2.8 million bungalow, Phang Li Koon, was also arrested.
Lim Guan Eng is spending the night at the lock-up and he would be brought to court tomorrow morning.
He might be charged under Section 23 of the MACC Act and Section 165 of the Penal Code, which deal with abuse of power and conflict of interest.
Attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali will lead the prosecution team to charge Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng tomorrow, reported Bernama.
“InsyaAllah, I will lead the prosecution team tomorrow at the Penang Sessions Court,” Apandi Ali said.
“It is my hope that the MACC will carry out their duty without fear and favor like they always do. And eventually this will bring us the truth and justice,” said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan.
Meanwhile, Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak says, ” the matter should be left to the courts.”
“The prosecution must now prove its case and the judge will have to decide whether the evidence proves that Guan Eng is guilty.

I do enjoy the manner in which you have framed this particular situation plus it really does present me some fodder for consideration. On the other hand, because of everything that I have personally seen, I just simply wish when other reviews stack on that people today remain on point and in no way embark upon a soap box involving some other news du jour. Anyway, thank you for this outstanding point and even though I can not necessarily go along with this in totality, I respect the perspective.
Hi this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
