Malaysia’s PM Muhyiddin on self-quarantine for 14 days

KUALA LUMPUR May 22: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is on self-quarantine for 14 days in his house starting today (Friday) after one of his Cabinet officers was tested positive COVID-19.

However, in a screen test this morning, Muhyiddin was tested negative from COVID-19, said a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) today.

The statement added, Muhyiddin has to self isolate himself after he chaired the Post-Cabinet Meeting at the PMO in Putrajaya on Thursday (May 21)which was also attended by the infected officer.

According to the Monitoring and Observation Order for COVID-19 Contact, (Section 15(1) 342 Act, Muhyiddin has to be quarantined in his house for 14 days.

“Those who were part of the post-Cabinet meeting on Thursday have been directed to undergo screen test and self-quarantine in their houses for 14 days with effect today,” PMO said its statement.

The statement also stressed that in every meeting, PMO has been adhering to social distancing and following the strict health standard operating procedure (SOP).-Malaysia World News
