PUTRAJAYA SEPT.19: The government has allocated RM471.6 million to the Malaysian Family under the COVID-19 Care Package (PPC) that will benefit 3.6 million B40 households to ensure they are free from the virus infections.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the package among others is to lessen the financial burden of the B40 households and to train them with the new norms and subsequently protect them from the infections.
Ismail said, the PPC aids will include the reusable face mask packet (4 pieces per family); self-test COVID-19 kit (4 kits per family); 1 pulse oximeter; 1 thermometer and guideline brochure for the use and health information.
“The PPC will start to be distributed to the Bantuan Pihatin Rakyat (BPR) recipients who have families and married in B40 with or without children or single mother or father with children. On the whole there are 8.4 BPR recipients,” Ismail said in a statement here today.
The Prime Minister added, in the effort to increase the protection of the susceptible group from the risk of COVID-19 infection the government has agreed to implement the third COVID-19 vaccine dose.
However, he said, the third dose will be implemented when the immunisation covers the adult population more than 80 per cent nationwide and will focus on the high risk groups such as the health front liners, patients with immunocompromised, senior citizens with comorbities and individuals who live or work in the long- term care facilities.
“The third dose will help increase the level of immunity among high risk individual against COVID-19 infection that probably has dropped in certain period of time after the second dose. As such the medical expert and health panel will develop the guideline for the implementation of the third dose,” he said. –Malaysia World News.
