PUTRAJAYA OCT.8: Malaysia has recorded 9,751 new daily COVID-19 cases today adding the cumulative total to 2,323,478 with Selangor contributing 1,796 being the highest followed by Sarawak with 1,339 while the cured cases amounting to 12,274 bringing the cumulative total to 2,170,289 or 93.4 per cent.
Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, from the new cases, 206 (2.1 per cent) were from categories 3, 4, 5 while another 9,545 cases (97.9 per cent) were from categories 1 and 2.
Dr. Noor Hisham said, 792 cases were admitted to the Intensive Care Units (ICU) with 715 COVID-19 cases, 77 suspected, probable and cases under investigation while 386 requiring respiratory aids with 84 suspected, probable and cases under investigation.
Regarding the new clusters, Dr. Noor Hisham said, it is reducing in numbers with 10 today including six at work places namely two in Selangor, one each in Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Melaka and Johor while two community clusters occurring in Pahang, one high risk cluster in Kelantan and one higher education cluster in Kuala Lumpur.
The states contributing to the new COVID-19 cases today are Selangor with 1,796, Sarawak (1,339), Kelantan (1,052), Johor (864), Sabah (705), Terengganu (650), Perak (643), Pulau Pinang (632), Kedah (578), Pahang (551), Kuala Lumpur (313), Melaka (244), Negeri Sembilan (243), Perlis (94), Putrajaya (45) and Labuan (2). –Malaysia World News
